26 | Tired

Dear Lord,

I am tired.  Mind, body, soul tired.  It's part barometric pressure, part three-day migraine, part menstrual mess, part sugar/caffeine skewed diet, part seasonal allergies.

There are all kinds of great things going on in my life, and I know I should list them now (crafty friends, silly kids, huggy hubby...).  I should think about whatever is right, noble, positive, good, and so forth.  But that doesn't change my need to be still with you, to rest.

I'm letting go of planned prayers; instead I'm resting in your loving acceptance.  Lord, thanks for being my sanctuary as I meditate on your word.

Be still and know that I am God.

Be still and know that I am.

Be still and know that I...

Be still and know.

Be still.

Be.
Psalm 46:10

Thank you, God, for loving me just as I am, for reminding me to be myself.

Amen.

  1. The perfect read for me. I love how you ended with "be". So simply, yet I fight to just "be".

  2. Barbie, isn't it sad that the simplest things are hardest? Praying that you find the satisfaction and rest in being present in today, in living in your own skin.
